I’ve been asked to run this workshop ever since I made this bag with Dragon Willow a few years ago. It’s one thing to make a basket, another to teach it…
Finally, on the home straight to achieving my City and Guilds level 2 in Basketry, I feel ready. So, by popular demand Traenerhus presents… ‘Make your own Willow Handbag!’… Made using brown willow and with leather handles. Work with our signature coloured willows, white, green, buff, buff noir and browns to create your own unique design.
We have a small group size so you get plenty of support and tuition to make your own lovely willow Handbag with leather handles…
Fill it with goodies for your bestie or keep it for yourself …
This workshop is suitable for people with some experience of basket making.
All materials are provided and we recommend that you wear sensible shoes, jeans or other trousers, an apron. If you have a good pair of secateurs please bring them along although enough will be available on the day. Please also bring along a weight to use when making your basket. This could be from a set of weights an old cast iron item or just something heavy that is less than 4 inches big.
WHERE? The Village Hall in Little Weighton is a light and spacious space with plenty of parking just past Skidby or Walkington if you’re coming from Beverley.
ANY PARKING? Parking is behind the village hall and can be accessed via Potterdale drive. Look out for the sign directing you to the Village Hall Car park.
REFRESHMENTS? Light refreshments are provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
