Club Overview

The Hedon Methodist Youth Club meets on Mondays during term time, starting at 6:30pm and finishing at 8:00pm. For more information, members and parents can visit the website (www.hedonmethodistchurch.org.uk), email youthclub@hedonmethodistchurch.org.uk, or find updates on the Facebook page, Hedon Methodist Youth Club.

Leadership and Safeguarding

The Youth Club is guided by a dedicated team of leaders and volunteers: Pru Todd, Seonaid Atkinson, Anna Smith, Francesco, Sam, Kealee Aitcheson, Racheal Rhodes, and Kevin Harrison. The club operates under Hedon Methodist Church’s Safeguarding for Children Policy, with all volunteers undergoing DBS checks. Safeguarding training is provided according to the Methodist Church guidelines, and there is always a First Aider present during sessions. All club activities are covered by Methodist Church insurance policies.

Welcome and Membership

Welcome to new and returning members! With a history spanning over 50 years, the club originally ran from Wyton Methodist Chapel until December 2009, moving to Hedon in January 2010 where weekly meetings have continued. Membership is capped at 22 children, and the club is managed by Youth Leader Pru Todd, Community Manager Seonaid Atkinson, and a team of volunteers. Funding is primarily sourced from membership subs, and any grants received are reinvested in club equipment and activities. The Youth Club is membership-based, so children must be registered in advance, and a waiting list operates when the club is full.

Age Range

The club welcomes children and young people aged 9 and above, with current membership ranging from ages 10 to 16. To join, children or their parents/guardians should contact one of the club leaders to request a place.

Club Activities

The club offers a fun and engaging environment, including weekly craft sessions, dance, drama, board games, pool, table tennis, and air hockey. Themed nights and drama events are held throughout the year, with excursions such as bowling and outdoor activities in the summer. The club also participates in events with Hedon Methodist Church, including Harvest and Christmas celebrations.
